FOO Flowering  is all about tolerance and peace.  Living in San Carlos, I was inspired by our Mayor, Omar Ahmad, who died suddenly  at the age of 48.   At his City memorial service I learned from his Imam, a Christian minister and Jewish friend how he was determined, as one of the very few Muslim elected officials in our country, to model tolerance and compassion.  They also spoke at his swearing in as City Council member.

This art piece came to me very shortly thereafter yet took me several years to refine and finish, just in time of the Summer of Love.....FOO, by the way, stands for Friends of Omar.  Omar had a big personality, was an environmental energy entrepreneur, and was quite an amazing force in our community for too short a time.  But his energy still shines.
